Three maintenance tasks our roof repair specialists recommend you keep on top of having a healthy roof.
To ensure your residential or commercial roof remains in top condition, you need to keep up to date with your roof maintenance. Doing so saves money and time in the long term. Some tasks you can do yourself, whilst others are worth calling the experts for.
Ensure your gutters are clear. Blocked gutters are one of the main causes of roof leaks which can lead to expensive damage. Keeping your gutters clear of leaves, dirt and other accumulated waste is an easy job you can do yourself. A bi-annual gutter clean is one preventative measure that can safeguard your roof.
Cut back overhanging branches - It is strongly recommended that you cut back branches that overhang, or are likely to soon overhang, your roof. Doing so means less debris will end up clogging your gutters.
Keep an eye on your roof shingles - Be on the lookout for cracked, missing or uneven shingles. You don’t have to climb up on your roof to view - simply use a pair of binoculars. While you have your binoculars out check the surrounding area for any protrusions, such as chimneys and exhaust vents, to ensure these are securely sealed.
